External clocking

To be 100% sure that the device is using the external clock to which it is connected even though it is displaying USB lock light do the following:

  1. Disconnect the device from the USB
  2. Connect the external clock generator
  3. Set the clock source to the appropriate settings
  4. Connect the device to the computer.
