You know the moment. The take was perfect. The room was quiet. The performance will never happen that way again. And somewhere in the chain, something didn’t make it to disk.
Dual Host Streaming exists so that moment stops being a possibility. Your Orion Studio Synergy Core now plays back and records on two machines at the same time, one over Thunderbolt, one over USB. Two computers. One interface. Nothing left to chance.
Two machines, one set of converters
You chose your converters with your ears. You shouldn’t have to decide which computer deserves them.
Connect one machine over Thunderbolt and another over USB, and both see the Orion Studio Synergy Core as a full playback and recording device. Both run through the same converters and the same monitoring chain. Same depth, same detail, same sound you fell for.
Stream a live set from one machine while the session records on the other. Split playback and recording across two machines. The setups that used to need a second Interface now need a second cable.
Separate paths in and out
The Control Panel carries dedicated channels for Thunderbolt playback and recording and for USB playback and recording. Each host gets its own way in and out of the device, and you decide what travels down it.
You choose which computer is in charge
Two computers, one clear chain of command. Host Mode sets how the Orion Studio Synergy Core talks to the machines attached to it. Run single-host over Thunderbolt or USB alone, or pick one of the two dual-host modes. The dual modes differ only in which connection leads.
The primary computer is the one in charge. The Control Panel opens there and only there, and routing can be adjusted only from that machine. The secondary computer sees the Orion Studio Synergy Core as a normal playback and recording device, with no control over the mixer. One brain, one place to look, no confusion about where a change came from.
One interface, two computers
Dual Host Streaming is the kind of feature that quietly takes hardware out of a studio and worry out of a session. If you have kept a second interface around purely so the streaming machine and the recording machine could both hear the room, you can put it away.
Set the Host Mode, plug in the second computer, and get back to the only part that ever mattered: the sound coming through the speakers.
